This is the graphic that I am going to use as the test
image. It is a picture of yours truely, and if you will
notice, in the background is a picture of a friend's father
with Frank Sinatra. (Got some clout off of that one, huh?)
As you can see here, I entered the url of the image I a
wanting to "optimize". There are radio buttons here to use
the conversion feature (also, note that it will render both
.jpg and .gif formats in one click so that you can compare
quality for bytes between the formats, but it takes a lot
longer). When you have picked what you want to do, hit the
"optimize" button!
Here you see a page of many different versions of my test
image. All are in .jpg format (thats what I told it to do),
and on the side, it gives basic information to help with
chosing the right image (file type, removal, bytes,
download speed, etc...).
It is also important to note that the yellow link box
"carries" with it your original pic for comaprison.
When you see an image that is of acceptable quality and
size, click on it and you will then take you to the
"results" page!
When you get to this page, just click on the image, it will
take you to your new image that is off in a window by
itself. From there it is as simple as going to the
transloader with the url. If you don't have the transloader
saved to an f-key just hit "goto" and "show last" to get
the temporary address and you will be ready to transload to
your site! REMEMBER: you must transload to your site! It
will disappear in a short ammount of time if you don't!
As a final comparison, here are the original and
"optimized" versions of my test pics. Click on them to see
the image in a window by tself. The byte size was cut in
half (and so was the load time!), and, in my opinion, the
qualiy of the pic didn't suffer much.
THE ORIGINAL
13199 bytes
|
THE OPTIMIZED
5117 bytes

The pictures were reduced in size to fit your screen in
this last demo.
