Lesson 16

Intro to Gradcolors

Gradcolors can be seen by WebTV only.

Computers will ignore this attribute, so they will just see the bgcolor that is being used, unless they have a WebTV Viewer installed.

Gradcolors can be used in a table, a table row or a table cell.

Gradcolors are colors in a table that change gradually from one color to another. The color that is seen changes from the bgcolor to the gradcolor. Any 2 colors can be used. When one of the colors is the same as the table or body bgcolor, you get a "fade-in" effect that has become the foundation for a whole class of art.

The direction of the color change is set by the gradangle. Gradangles are entered in degrees of a circle similar to a compass, with 0° being "south", then increasing counter-clockwise.

Here is the code for a gradcolor cell:

Here are some examples of gradcells with colors that are both different from the table bgcolor.

Here are some examples of gradcolor cells that have one color the same as the page bgcolor, in this case, black.
